To safeguard the wellbeing of the hospital’s patients and staff, pioneering design ideas needed to be implemented alongside the most advanced medical equipment and technology in the patient catering facility.
Antiskid Industries has a history of providing a variety of construction solutions and working in conjunction with Flowcrete Australia, 1,400m2 of ultra-hygienic, seamless resin flooring was required for the facility.
Throughout the project pioneering construction ideas have been embraced alongside advanced scientific, technological and medical innovations to ensure the patients and the medical community have access to a wide range of clinical, research and education services.
Antiskid design department in consultation with Brookfield Multiplex recommended the specification to suit the required working environment and meet world-leading standards. The innovative anti-bacterial floor Flowfresh SR was specified and installed by Antiskid Industries including the floor and wall resin coving in the patient catering facility. This solution was chosen to ensure a sanitary environment that would minimise the risk from harmful contaminants.
Flowfresh included the anti-microbial agent Polygienic which actively assists-on-site cleaning regimes by inhibiting the growth of up to 99.9% of bacteria on the floor surface. The finish is a durable and reliable flooring material that is able to withstand abusive environments without failing. It resists chemicals, wear, heat and hot water so that the floor’s surface remains level and crack free.
It took Antiskid 4 weeks to install the patients catering facility’s floor, which was applied in both 4mm and 6mm thicknesses to match the demands of the environment.
